Hello everyone
It's been a long time since my last post but now i am back and i hope that i won't be so busy again and update the site regularly. Today i am going to tell you how you can install the "Sygic Mobile Maps 10" into your smartphone, either Android, Symbian, WinMo.
I am from Cyprus and it's very hard to find something GPS-like for my country so i am going to post this guide to make my country mate's lives easier.
Let's begin
- Create a folder named "sygic" without the quotes on the root of your SDCARD. (root means the directory when you open your sdcard, let's say the sdcards letter is "x" the directory should be "x:\sygic" )
- Download one of the 3 Sygic Versions from below:
ANDROID version (eg. HTC Hero, HTC Legend, HTC Desire, HTC Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S, Motorolla Droid etc)
ANDROID 2.2 FroYo version (eg. HTC Desire, HTC Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S etc)
SYMBIAN version(eg. N97 etc, sorry but i don't have any symbian phones to mention here)
WINMO version (eg. HTC Touch Diamond 1/2, HTC Touch PRO 1/2, HTC Touch HD, HTC HD2 etc)
- Place the zip you downloaded inside the "sygic" folder you created in step 1.
- Right-Click it and choose "EXTRACT HERE" (now you should have inside the sygic directory 1 setup file and 3 folders, MAPS, RES, DRIVE)NOTE:::: The winmo version has one more folder 2577, in my touch diamond 2 i didn't need it so i deleted it but i put it as i found it. i think it's for the old windows versions
- Now using a file manager from your phone (Astro or Explorer for ANDROID which can be found in Market) locate the "setupandroid.apk", "setupsymbian.sis" or "setupwinmobile.exe" according to your version and RUN it to install the App. (You should have a new app named "Mobile Maps 10" now)
- Run the application, it will ask you to REGISTER your map. Proceed as it says until it gives you a DEVICE ID (write it down somewhere on a paper)
- Using your PC now access your memory card and go into the "MAPS" folder and locate "SygicKG.exe"
- RUN the keygen file mention above and click the "BROWSE" button. Now locate the "SMM10 Europe.mlm" file located into the MAPS folder again and make it the selection for the box.
- In the DEVICE ID box type in the code you got from the application when we run it in step 6 and then click GENERATE.
- Write down this code as this is your REGISTRATION code you will enter in the app wizard in order to register the app. Return to the phone and run the application. Register it with the code we got from the step above and you should now have a fully working GPS navigation program with CYPRUS & GREECE maps installed.
I hope i was descriptive and detailed. For any problem or question don't hesitate to ask me. Just post a comment and i will answer you ASAP. Especially Cyprus friends who are searching for Cyprus Maps. Foreign users can have this too and add more maps later.

Great specs indeed
This device has some hardware inside!!! The greatest weapon though it’s the MAEMO 5 which it runs and it’s full openess to developers and geeks. Cause of its linux root it’s very easy to make applications and customize the whole N900 experience you have.
In addition to the MAEMO 5 is the compatibility with a lot of programming languages, and the best of all PYTHON. There are a lot of Python developers around the globe who make applications for platforms supporting python. Well this device supports it OUT OF THE BOX, meaning that you just run the python script and VOILA your application is running
This in my opinion is one of N900’s biggest reasons that will make it a sky success!!!
Now, the rivals this phone has. N900 is one of the TOP notch devices this year and the best smartphone NOKIA ever builded, but there are some competitors out there ready to be thrown into the battle for the BEST SMARTPHONE title
These are as i see it the way famous iPhone 3gs, the new HTC HD2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the Motorolla Droid. These phones cover every form a smartphone can be, every OS a smartphone can run and all the features currently availiable to us.
Below there is a table comparing them side by side in the most important aspects so i’ll be glad to hear your opinion on which one is better (if you think there is one) and why.

Fewww, that took some time to write
:P:P I hope you find my comparison comprehensive enough and be able to compare them to choose yours !!! As i am concerned i think N900 is the best one cause of its hardware AND the Maemo OS and its open development! I am waiting for your thoughts on these high-end devices or any suggestions you have.
Another phone i think worths the inclusion to this battle is the Samsung Omnia i8910HD which has the best hardware around, it can be even compared to N900 hardware-wise but i haven't included into the table cause the symbian s60 which runs on is just outdated and luggish against these OSes. But if anyone want to check out its specs can go here and see it in all it's glory

I wish you the best and Merry Christmas everyone i hope Santa will bring you the smartphone you want
