1) Boot into Custom Recovery – if you don’t want a permanent one.
- Download the necessary update.zip (ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.1)
- While the phone is TURNED OFF press VOL-DOWN and holding it press the POWER button
- In the menu here choose the 2nd option RECOVERY
- When it loads (you should see a red triangle) press VOL-UP and holding it press POWER button
- Now you should choose the “Flash update.zip from sdcard” option
- Now you are in the Custom Recovery mode. Here you can flash custom .zips that alter system files (like the wake_unlock files below in #2) or mods or anything. Or the Custom Rom i have above. (To flash a rom you must be rooted though)
2) Choose how you want to wake up your phone from sleep(Power, Search, Home, Menu, Back, Trackpad)

Am using this rom now, easy to install, had a few bugs and crashes afterwards. Installed the latest radio and all working nicely. Even get HSDPA again when even the original HTC rom and others couldn’t give me a decent signal. Thank you very much.

I am using my rom with coutts Kernel (xda forums) and i have an amazing experience!!! Trully amazing!
Also with my rom i never had a reboot or crash and i have everything i ever needed as long as modules or features are concerned!
Thanks for the tip on the kernel. Just installed coutts 925mV 0verclock kernel and it makes a nice difference – quite a bit faster and loads a bit more quickly on boot up.

well there are different opinions on the governors…i always though find onDemand speedier and better for performance. i think though that it has worst battery life than others
you can always tell the quality of USB cables by looking at the thickness of the cable. thicker usb cables have higher quality .;-

do you need the Google Gmail app you mean ?
cause the HTC Mail can handle gmail too. Also K-9 mail is awsome, i am using that one and i have all of my accounts yahoo, gmail etc into it. with just one app.
If you need Google Gmail download the file below. Add it to your rom .zip in /system/app folder (just open the zip with winrar and navigate to /system/app then add the gmail.pak and close (don.t change compress mode or anything)
When flashing the rom choose the option to disable verification.

you just add a new widget into your home screens ! click the right arrow and then choose widget. then scroll to find the one you want.
NOTE::::: YOU SHOULDN’T WIPE AFTER FLASHING THE ROM IF YOU WANT THE WIDGETS TO REMAIN INSTALLED.
they are installed into the data partition so anyone who doesn’t want them to be able to remove them so if you wipe AFTER flashing the rom they are gone too.

When I bought my HTC Desire, it came with your ROM (on version 3.3) installed and running smoothly. But soon I began to have some SDCARD problems… I’ve been reading about this problem everywhere and had no answer. But as soon as I knew that your ROM’s version 4 is out, I thought of making some tests with “ext” fs. I tried to install it without success.
First of all, as you told on Setember 4th in this thread, I already have a permanent recovery mode installed by the rooting process – the unrevoked 3.21. (I’m not actually certain about that, as I already had a permanent recovery before rooting, but this process changed/upgraded it somehow!)
Secondly, I thought that if I already have the Radio’s newer version, it was not necessary to re-install it. Am I right? But the thing is: I can boot on recovery mode, wipe things, and try to install “lcr_r4.zip” or “32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2.zip”. But when I reboot I have to reconfigure things up, but the release 3.3 still there.
The process of installation (flashing) appears to be right (no error shown) but returns ultra fast. Is it right?
Please, I would appreciate some insight on this.
Ok, you should try WIPE everything first. Then without rebooting, flash the radio that’s above…not the latest (i had some battery drains with it and this is the most stable). Then when back in recovery flash the Rom r4 and you should be working ok without problems.

YES you can use this rom to flash to an SLCD screen powered Desire.
The rest of explanation
2. Flash the radio
After you have downloaded the radio zip file copy it to the root of sdcard
1. Turn your desire off
2. Hold the back button and turn your desire on
3. When you are at the white screen, make sure BOOTLOADER is selected and press the power button
4. Wait a few seconds then press volume down to select RECOVERY and press the power button again
5. When you are at the screen with the red triangle and the phone, plug in the usb cable
6. Run the recovery.sh from the cd of tiny core linux
code:
sudo mkdir /mnt/cdrom
sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
cd /mnt/cdrom/desire
sudo ./recovery.sh
7. When the recovery menu appears select ‘Flash zip from sdcard’
8. Select the radio zip file and press the trackerball to confirm
9. Press the trackerball over ‘Reboot system now’
10. When the radio image has finished being written unplug the usb cable
11. The phone will reboot a couple of times and then return to a normal state with your new radio
3. Flash custom rom
Download and Recovery Image Package to Your Phone
1. Download the recovery package

rename the file “recovery-clockwork-bravo.zip” into update.zip
2. copy the update.zip file to the root of your SD card (NOT in any folders, just on the sd card itself. Do NOT extract or rename it, leave it as update.zip).
3. Download the desire rom and copy the zip file to the root of sdcard
Now you have two files into the root of sdcard. “update.zip” and the name of the rom you have downloaded.
4. Now, turn the phone off and turn it back on by holding down Volume Down and Power until the Bootloader mode comes up.
5. Using the volume buttons and power to select, navigate and choose Recovery. Execute with power buton. You will see at the screen of the phone a red triangle and the phone.
6. Push Volume Up and Power to get the recovery menu to appear.
7. Select Apply sdcard:update.zip (This should launch the recovery package).
8. In the new recovery menu on your phone, navigate using the trackpad to Wipe and click it. Then click Wipe data/factory reset.
9. Once it is done wiping, click Volume Down to go back to the main menu and now select Flash zip from sdcard and choose the .zip file you downloaded and saved to your sd card.
10. Once it is done flashing, select Reboot and your all set! You are now running your custom ROM. Enjoy!
The ustom recovery option is WAY BETTER cause you don’t have pc cables or anything (livecss etc) involved. Just an update.zip on your sdcard and you access it by goiong to recovery and pressing
VOL_UP+ Power—->Flash update.zip
OR a better way is to flash a permanent custom recovery with unrevoked…just go into recovery and instead fo the triangle you will have the custom one where you can flash new roms and radios or updates or wipe anything you want and many other features…one of the best ones NANDROID

I am running your custom ROM 3.3 and I am happy to manage this because I had some problems with the instructions on the internet
Below I will explain how to manage this
1. I rooted my HTC Desire
2. I flashed the last radio
3. I flashed the custom rom
4. I installed the astro file manager
5. I installed the sygic
6. I installed the quick office
1. Root with Tiny Core Linux
1. Download Tiny Core Linux Live CD.
—- For a bootloader of 0.75.* or lower AND a current ROM of
1.15.* or lower http://www.multiupload.com/6F8U7TIWJC
—- For a bootloader of 0.80.* or lower AND a current ROM of
1.21.* or lower http://www.multiupload.com/SJ7SB8US6S
2. Burn the downloaded iso on CD/DVD
3. Boot your computer from that CD/DVD, once you booted it will ask you to press Enter or F2/F3 keys, you need to press Enter
4. Start the HTC Desire in bootloader by holding the button “back” and turning it on by the “power” button
5. Connect the USB cable to the phone and PC
6. Open a terminal by clicking the icon that looks like a monitor at the bottom on Tiny Core Linux and type the following commands:

sudo mkdir /mnt/cdrom
sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
cd /mnt/cdrom/desire
sudo ./step1.sh
7. Wait until the phone restarts back into the white bootloader screen and on the computer you see instructions for the recovery
Press power and with the volume button select “RECOVERY”. Wait for the red triangle on the screen of the phone.
8. In terminal type the following command:

sudo ./step2.sh
9. Once the phone has finished, you will see a screen with a green text. Use the optical tracker to navigate the menu to select Wipe and then press Wipe data/factory reset. Press optical tracker to confirm.
10. Once complete go back in the main menu. Now select the option Flash zip from sdcard and than choose rootedupdate.zip
11. Once back in the main menu, choose restart the phone – the rooting process is now finished

First of all I love your ROM! But sadly I have to say that version 3.3. Doesn’t work on my Desire. After installing it just stops at the boot screen. Version 3.2 works like a charm!

wipe and then reinstall it…you may have something in /data partition that causes the bootloop….you must wipe everything before flashing

I will try to flash your custom rom 3.2 but I want first to know if in your rom included the software Sygic Mobile Maps 10 (Cyprus & Greece)?
I noticed that you have removed the quickoffice. Is there in your rom any other program that edit office files especially excel files?

as for the quickoffice…with it you can ONLY view files….READ ONLY….if you want though gimme your email and i’ll send you something!!!
